Forging Identities

New Media is primarily a way for users to expand upon their real-life identities or even construct entirely new identities. There are numerous ways to do this through complex ways such as computer programming, to far more simple means such as engaging in social media. Additionally, everything we create using new media, everything that we are allowed to share with the rest of the world, serves as a reflection of our identity. Janet Murray’s Contributions to New Media

After exploring Janet H. Murray’s website and blog more thoroughly, I was astounded at the sheer amount of digital media material she discusses, primarily pertaining to interactive narratives, as well as the sheer amount of projects developed by her company eTV Lab, Experimental Television Lab, at Georgia Tech.

Screencast on How To Use Greenshot

Recently, I have been introduced to Greenshot, a free program that allows users to take full or partial screenshots, then go on to manipulate these screenshots in its built-in image editor program. It is because I often have difficulty with technology that I am in awe of Greenshot, which is a tremendously easy program to use, and its image editor is very user-friendly and fun to play around with as well.
